Vanessa Tricoche is a happy Afro Boricua-Indigena that resides in The Bronx, NY and is in the process re-matriating  to her homeland of Borinquen (Puerto Rico). Her practice as a community mental health clinician is centered in cultural and spiritual attunement and indigenous medicine. The emphasis of her work is focused on strength-based trauma-informed care, the connection with somatic practices and trauma, traditional medicine, and harm reduction with children, youth, and families impacted by (im)migration, displacement, and other forms of oppression. Vanessa addresses challenges with depression, anxiety, trauma including PTSD, attachment, an and family reunification. In her last role as a director of programs Vanessa supervised a team of 121 youth development and programming staff in four NYC public schools. She has experience as an executive director and administrator of both small and large non-profits. Currently she dedicates her time as a consultant coaching and supporting leadership in healing justice practices and organizational program planning for multiple national non-profits. Vanessa has a bachelor degree in Comparative Religions, is a certified Holistic Nutritionist, Advanced Training Yoga Teacher, is trained in both traditional partera (birth worker) and is a NY State certified Doula. Vanessa has intensive training in herbal medicine making, mindfulness stress reduction, and  restorative justice practices. Vanessa has trained thousands of NYC DOE staff and students in conflict resolution practices.
